How do I GET RIGHT? Luckily for us it is really simple. God calls upon us to simply believe in Jesus, and his sacrifice for us. (Romans 10:9-10)(Ephesians 2:8-10) Jesus who is God's only son is what makes it possible for us to be able to GET RIGHT. He was sent down from heaven by God in order to save us. (John 3:16,17) He acted as our representative, and suffered our punishment for us, so that we wouldn't have to. Only he could do it, because only he was sinless, and didn't deserve to be punished. So, by believing and accepting what he did for us, we are able to GET RIGHT. He also asks us to repent. (Acts 2:38,17:30,31) Repentance means to turn away from our sins. This doesn't mean that you won't struggle with your problems anymore, it just means that you will struggle. You're committing to trying to do what's right, and not automatically giving in to your temptations, or purposely doing what is wrong. You have to at least try to be a good person, and remember most of us do this anyway. Thirdly, New Testament churches believe in baptism. (Acts 2:38,39)(Romans 6:1-7) Different denominations have slightly different opinions about the role of Baptism, but all believe it is involved in some way in the process of getting right. I have my own personal opinion about the role of Baptism, but I would rather you study the scriptures yourself either on your own or with someone, than simply tell you what I think.
